Overview - UNITED STATES GAME & UNITED STATES WORKSHEETS SET
United States Game and Worsheets Set engages students with interactive social studies and geography tools which combine learning state facts with knowing the location of all 50 states. By PCI's Janie Haugen-McLane, the large game board features a full-color U.S. map and adaptive teaching approach.
In the Worksheets binder, dozens of reproducible activities make social studies and geography come alive for students struggling to learn basic facts about the 50 states. In addition to classroom lessons, activities, and quizzes, the binder contains take-home study guides, often with visuals, to help students learn the state facts that are taught and reinforced in this program. This comprehensive program uses clear illustrations to assist students who are visual learners.
Board Game Play
Students place their game pieces on their home state, roll the die, and move that many spaces (states) in any direction on the U.S. map. After landing on a state, a player identifies the state''s name. If the state is identified correctly, the player shades in that state on his or her U.S. map score sheet. In the eight other games that can be played, Players spin, get a number from 1 to 50, listen as the teacher reads the game prompt, and move to the corresponding state on the U.S. game board. Example prompt is, "Move to Texas & name its capital city." One point is earned for each correct answer.
Worksheet Activities Binder
A wide variety of worksheets is included so that students can demonstrate their understanding in many different ways. Students will fill in blanks using helpful word banks, match words and pictures to the correct state illustrations, write basic state facts on a U.S. map, complete crossword puzzles, and encounter many other fun state-related activities.
