Activity Sheets - Each short is followed by a series of four activity sheets that focus on reading comprehension skills. Students are asked to answer fact recall questions, determine cause and effect, identify main ideas and details, compare and contrast, use timelines, and place events in sequence. Extension activities are also included for each passage. The extension activities allow students to make personal connections to the text, do further research, and craft written responses. A quiz follows each series of activity sheets and includes questions written in standardized test format. Answer keys are also provided.
