Overview - READING RODS FLUENCY/COMPREHENSION KIT 1-GR. K-1
These manipulative-based kits help students develop fluency and comprehension
skills though repeated and monitored oral reading, audio-assisted reading, silent
reading, and pre- and post-reading "hands-on" activities. Includes fiction and
non-fiction texts and activities for multiple learning styles. Up to six students
can use the materials simultaneously. Lessons allow measurement of fluency and
reinforce comprehension. Ideal for guided reading groups, intervention programs,
and small groups.
KIT 1 (Grades K-1) Features short books with age-appropriate
illustrations, small amounts of text, predictable storylines, and strong picture-text
match. Includes: 64-page Instruction and Activity Book, 28-page Flip Book, 6
Pouches of 48 Reading Rods, 6 Teacher Storybooks, 36 Student Storybooks, audio
CD of all stories, and Primary Timer.
KIT 2 (Grades 1-2) Begins with simple stories and strong picture-text
match and progresses to more challenging, longer text. Includes: 64-page Instruction
and Activity Book, 28-page Flip Book, 6 Pouches of 62 Reading Rods, 6 Teacher
Storybooks, 36 Student Storybooks, audio CD of all stories, and Primary Timer.
