Overview - STAR PROGRAM LEVEL 2
Teach students with autism the critical skills identified by the 2001 National Research Council using this comprehensive program. Students with autism and other developmental disabilities will master receptive, expressive, and spontaneous language, as well as functional skills, social interaction, and play skills.
Features
Applied Behavior Analysis form the program's theoretical base. Discrete Trial Training, Pivotal Response Training, and Functional Routine strategies are used in the lessons, which are individualized for each student.
Levels
Level 1: Students learn to use basic language concepts, make verbal requests, accomplish simple routines, and engage in beginning play skills.
Level 2: Students learn to expand understanding of language, use spontaneous words, master pre-academic work, and play with others.
Level 3: Students learn to expand language and academic concepts, use prepositions, use pronouns, tell time, add and subtract, and generalize skills into school routines.
