Sing and Read Math Collections introduce students to the various beginning
math concepts with these collections. The lessons are intertwined in the engaging
melodies and story lines. In addition to numeral recognition, many operational
skills of basic math are featured as students read the stories and listen to
the audio music CDs.

Understanding Numbers
Students will count with understanding,recognize how many, and demonstrate one-to-one
correspondence.Covers distinguishing between letters and numerals; demonstratingan
understanding of zero; and practicing counting by twos, fives,and tens.
Measurement
Covers identifying objects as the same or differentand then more or less, as
well as comparing and ordering objectsaccording to length and width.
Space & Shapes
Helps students learn to recognize, name, build,draw, compare, and sort shapes.
Also covers looking for and naminggeometric shapes in the environment.
Sorting & Patterns
Teaches sorting, predicting, classifying, and workingwith patterns. Once students
are able to identify patterns, they willextend existing patterns, create new
patterns, and name patterns.
Problem Solving
Introduces beginning addition and subtraction. Covers collecting and organizing
data, as well as learning about the commutative principle, the zero property
of addition, and adding doubles. Students will use math logic to solve problems
in their environment.
