Components
There are between 26 and 30 puzzles in each box. The large (4 1/2" x 3 3/4") full-color Puzzle Cards are illustrated, made of heavy-duty card stock, and laminated for long-term use and durability. The jig cut of each puzzle guarantees that only the correct puzzle pieces will match. Each box contains Teacher Notes with ideas for various puzzle activities and extension exercises.
The complete set of Basic Skills Reading Puzzles is an extremely effective way to support, enrich, and enhance the development of reading skills. The puzzles can be used by one or more players for games and activities from simply matching to story writing. Special Features
Extension activities include having students create puzzles with their own words and illustrations. Bulletin boards can be created using the student cards. Students can collect actual items of magazine pictures to further reinforce the concepts presented. Teachers can also look for and point out examples of homophones, synonyms, analogies, etc. when reading stories to students to reinforce the concepts covered in the puzzles.
