Overview - TAKING A.D.D. TO SCHOOL
The Special Kids in School Series is a great tool for counselors, teachers, school nurses, parents or caregivers. These beautifully illustrated and fun-to-read storybooks simplify and normalize complicated childhood conditions.
When read aloud, other children can identify why a peer may be treated differently and begin to empathize with them. In addition, children whose conditions set them apart as being different can begin to feel accepted and safe. Book includes a Kid Quiz to reinforce information and Ten Tips for Teachers to provide additional facts and ideas for teacher use. A percentage of every sale is donated to support research.
For Grades: 1-4.
Each 32-page book tackles issues involved with chronic childhood conditions. When read aloud, peers of the special student will better understand why he or she may be treated in a special way. As a result, the student with the special condition will feel accepted and safe at school. Books written for Ages 5-10.
