Step-by-step life skills instruction for students with limited reading skills
and for nonreaders.
The Life Skills Curricula Package provides students with easy-to-follow
instructions in this program that includes illustrated activities in a reproducible
format to help nonreaders learn and follow the activities. Lesson plans provide
objectives, data forms, and training suggestions. Pocket books, laminated cards,
illustrated lists, and more will help each of your students be successful in
learning these important life skills.
Life Skills Curricula Titles and Skills Taught
Looking Good Curriculum: The personal care curriculum, Looking Good,
includes a 215 page instructors guide focusing on 47 personal care activities.
Each activity is illustrated step-by-step in a reproducible format and described
in lesson plans featuring objectives, data forms and training suggestions. Seventy-two
laminated routine cards fit in the pocket book to help users organize a plan
for doing grooming independently.
Keeping House Curriculum: The domestic or vocational housekeeping curriculum,
Keeping House, includes a 217 page instructors guide focusing on 48
housekeeping activities. Each activity is illustrated step-by-step in a reproducible
format and described in lesson plans featuring objectives, data forms and training
suggestions. Seventy-two laminated routine cards fit in the pocket book to help
users complete a plan for cleaning independently.
Shopping Smart Curriculum: The shopping curriculum for grocery and department
stores, Shopping Smart, includes a 230 page instructors guide featuring
illustrated step-by-step sequences of grocery and department store shopping.
Lesson plans provide objectives, data forms and training suggestions. Also includes
288 full-color laminated cards that illustrate food and nonfood items. These
colorful cards can help teach about shopping items and can be arranged in the
pocket book to create an illustrated shopping list for nonreaders.
Home Cooking: Conventional and microwave illustrated recipes are presented
in Home Cooking. The curriculum package includes a 160 page instructors
guide and a beautifully illustrated cookbook. The guide provides 38 lessons
with objectives, training suggestions and reproducible recipe pages. The cookbook
includes 37 healthy, easy-to-prepare conventional and microwave recipes, printed
in color and black line. Cookbook pages are laminated for protection and displayed
in an easel binder for easy viewing.
Select-A-Meal Curriculum: Fast food, table service, cafeteria dining
are presented in Select-A-Meal. Includes a 195 page instructors
guide covering dining at fast food or table service restaurants, school cafeteria
or home! Features step-by-step dining activities plus reproducibles: Food cards,
picture step pages, communication cues, money aids and data sheets. Emphasizes
table manners and appropriate social skills. Student resources include 144 laminated
food choice cards, illustrated menu and pocket book.
