As a special education teacher, I have used PCI products for years. This year I was able to use the Environmental Print Program. Our classroom which is a K-2 special needs classroom with cross categorical students. I wondered how well this program would work because one of my students could not even remember his last name when asked to say his name.
We began the program after Christmas break and I must admit that it is nothing short of amazing. My students love the books because they are short and have rebus pictures to link to the words. My student who cannot remember his last name can read at least half of the words in every book introduced.
The reproducible materials are excellent. I know immediately if my students comprehend the story and they like matching the signs. The signs are the key part that they LOVE. They can match and name every sign that has been introduced because they are linked to real life situations. Thank you so much for the opportunity to introduce my students to reading through the use signs.
